Featuring for your consideration a brown ladies figural shoe sewer tile. The origin of figural sewer tiles are thought to be Ohio from the 1890's to the early 1900's. The making of these figurals were made by workers who grew bored with making ordinary sewer pipes and used leftover clay to make objects for themselves or as gifts -- similar to glass makers who made whimseys. This ladies shoe shows traces of chips along the top rim of the shoe and is a chocolate brown in color.
