Victorian Mourning Brooch with Bird
A dark black piece of mourning jewelry is featured. This brooch has a raised design of a bird with spread wings over row of flowers. It is made out of celluloid and appears to be a two piece design. It has a C clasp on the back but then there is an extra silver wire attached for what reason I can't figure out. I had to lighten the pictures to show the details as the brooch, itself, is very black. Circa 1890-110. Condition is very good. The size of this oval brooch is approximately 1 1/2" wide, 1" long and stands 1/2".
