Beautiful Puffy Wavecrest Jewelry Box with Forget Me Nots
This is a wonderful Puffy Wavecrest Jewelry Box decorated with sprays of flowers including Forget Me Nots. The color of the Wavecrest Box is a light dusty pink and white and the top is accented with forget me nots with white bead work dots. The top and bottom of the rim is a linear brass and the clasp shuts down tightly. The interior has a replacement lining. On the bottom is marked with the C. F. Monroe manufacturers identification and Wavecrest. The circular jewelry box measures 5" across in diameter.and stands 3" tall. Both the top and bottom are "puffy". I see a little raised material -- maybe from the painting on the side -- it is very tiny but other than than, it shows very good consistent with age and use. Dating of this piece would be 1880-1890.
