Beautiful Brass and Gilt Design Button
This is a striking button which has for its center a gilt checkerboard pattern. Around the center is an engraved design and the rim is beaded. It has a tinned back and wire shank so I am dating this button around the 1870-1880's. The button measures 1" across and i can see no wear to the front.
