Victorian English Demitasse Cup and Saucer with ornate sterling holder

Presenting a green with gold English Staffordshire Demitasse Cup and Saucer. The cup is nestled in an ornate English Sterling Holder. The cup and saucer have a manufactured mark with the pattern name of Egg Shell and has a Registry Number of 179250 which dates the protection of this design between 1890-1891. The English sterling cup holder is very ornate and features an unused monogram (see photos). The sterling cup holder is hallmarked and clearly shows that the cup holder was made in Birmingham and in the year 1902. The maker is W.C which designates it as being manufactured by William Comyns. The cup measures 2" across and stands 2 1/2" tall. Th3e saucer measures almost 4 1/2" across. Condition for this cup and saucer is very good with little significant loss of the gold design. The only problem I can detect is some black smudge marks on the cup near the handle (see photo). NOTE: This cup and saucer has been in my cup and saucer collection 30 years.
