Early Pine Hutch Table

This is a nice example of a 19th Century hutch table in pine. The top measures 36" by 54" and stands 29" tall when closed. The base/seat measures 38" wide by 18" deep.

Th top pivots on two removable, hand turned pins in the back to convert from a table to a seat. Two additional hand turned pins secure the top in the down position. These were popular in small, old kitchens where there was little room so, when not needed as a table, the top was flipped up and pushed against a wall as a seat. The seat is hinged and lifts to reveal additional storage space. It looks great in either position.

The top is formed from 3 wood pine boards. The sides have a nicely formed cutout with a central drop. The original hinges help date this piece to the second half of the 19th Century.

We found this piece in Massachusetts and in rough shape. We had it professionally restored and it is ready for normal use in your period setting.

Due to its size and weight, shipping costs will be quoted at the time of your interest. We do offer personal delivery within 100 miles of Philadelphia. We travel to New England often and can arrange a delivery there in conjunction with one of our trips.
