18th Century Connecticut Candle Stand

This Queen Anne candle stand in cherry and is attributed to the Connecticut River Valley and has a rare octagon shaped top. The extended cabriole legs are nicely formed and the pedestal has a well turned vase and spool design. The top is fixed and supported by a traditional batten. The stand is a short 27 3/4" which is more common for Connecticut. The top measures 16 1/2" in diameter.

The stand retains an early dry finish. There are repairs to the dovetail joints on the post, not uncommon for stands of this age, and the top has a split and an early repair. One leg has an early repair at the angle. Please review all photos.

We are pleased to be able to offer such an early form with an early surface and with the rare octagon top.

Because the stand will need special packing and shipping we will quote those costs at the time of your interest. We can offer personal delivery within 100 miles of Philadelphia. Also, we travel to New England regularly and can arrange delivery to coincide with one of our trips.
