Extremely Large Mohawk Brush Trade Sign

Now here is a really big brush for that really big job. Actually a trade sign for the Mohawk Brush Company, this 4 foot long brush makes a grand statement. Mohawk Brush was incorporated in 1906 and was taken over by the Fuller Brush Company in 1942. (No we don't think this became a salesman's sample for the iconic Fuller Brush salesman.)

The handle is varnished wood and the bristles are stiff wire. The name Mohawk is prominently displayed on the handle. The brush measures 4' 2" long x 7 1/4" wide x 9" tall (the bristles).

There are some losses to the bristled and the handle shows signs of its age. The back has some early holes where air had been mounted. More recently a screw eye had been added to the end of the handle si it could be displayed.

You can just picture this brush hanging in an old department or hardware store to point the way to the cleaning products department.
