Antique Child's Ladder Back Rocker

We fell in love with the form of this child's rocker. The posts are rails are all hand turned and nicely so. Note the arms terminating in sausage turned hand holds. And, the front posts have a well turned vase section between the seat and the arms. The back 3 slats are nicely arched and the rockers are of the "cheese cutter" variety with an interesting profile.

The seat is natural rush and likely an early replacement to the original. The black paint covers some early wear so, we suspect the chair was restored with new surface and seating. There is an old, good, repair to the tip of one of the rockers. There is some minor wear damage to the paint but the rush seat is in excellent condition - ready for good use by a child or grandchild.

The chair measures 16" wide by 20" deep (rockers) and 25 1/2" tall. This rocker was made by a craftsman with a good eye for style and design.
