Antique Birds-Eye Maple Turned Bowl

This handsome turned butter bowl measures 15 1/2" in diameter at its widest and 4 3/4" tall. The birds-eye figuring is both distinct and consistent over the entire bowl, which is rare and desirable. We also love the deep rich color. The 1" ovality speaks to its age and suggests the bowl was turned green, as most of the early bowl were. Despite good age, this bowl looks to have escaped hard use as the condition is excellent.

Considering age, condition, color and figure - this is the best bowl we have ever handled.
