Early Hand Hammered Oval Covered Copper Pot

How exciting to find a 14" x 10" x 5" copper oval cooker with the lid and unique copper hand forged lid handle and side(s) bracket with hand forged steel bails!!! The brackets are held in place with copper rivets. These rivets were made by hand from rolled-up pieces of copper.

The pot itself is in excellent condition - a fresh retinning and it is usable. The cover has three splits (two on the top rim and one on the edge - see photos) that can be repaired. One side of the top appears to have received a few whacks, probably someone trying to get the lid off (it is a very tight fit). There is a ring on one end of the lid to enable the owner to hag it.

A great country look and nice addition to anyone's collection.
