Tin Airplane Novelty Brooch, Made in Japan, c. 1930

The airplane sits atop a globe on this pre-WWII pin giving a sense of international travel. It is remarkable that the conflict with Japan was only a few short years from the time this brooch was created and sold to the American market. On its original display card, the pin measures approximately 2 1/8" x 1 1/2". Marked Made in Japan on the back.
