Cream color on sage jasperware oblong pin or trinket tray. A border or garland of laurel leaves surrounds a central motif of classical figures. The tray is 6" in length and 3 1/4" wide. Marked on the bottom with "WEDGWOOD", "MADE IN ENGLAND", and the number "63" (I think!) for the year 1963. The letters "MR" and "T" also appear on the bottom. Excellent undamaged condition - no chips, no cracks, no crazing.
Founded in 1859 by Josiah Wedgwood in the Staffordshire district of Great Britain, the company is still producing fine pottery. Jasperware, a major innovation by the company, has been in production more than 200 years in a variety of colors. Solid sage green jasperware was reintroduced in 1950 and discontinued in 1986.
