Hand Sewn Leather Scottie Pin
Vintage, possibly 1940s, reddish brown leather, three dimensional Scottie dog pin. Two pieces of leather make up this little dog which was stuffed with a soft material, then hand whip stitched together. Older style safety pin catch on reverse works well and is still plenty sharp! Pin measures 2 inches wide (nose to tail) and 1 ¾ inches tall (toe to ears). Collecting Scottie dog items became popular in the 1940s after Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Scottie, Fala, moved into the White House.
