Georgian Hair necklace with Cross Pendant and Family Provenance

This is a fabulous example of Georgian/ Victorian era hair jewelry. This piece was made from the hair of a woman born in 1788, married in 1804 and given to her daughter who was born in 1810 and died in 1849. (I have photographed the card with the specific provenance dates in photo two.) It had been passed down from generation to generation before I was fortunate enough to acquire it and now offer it to you. The hair was expertly woven into the form of a chain and a cross with gold spacers and a hairpin clasp.

I will be shipping this, along with the family provenance, in a specimen box as shown in the 3rd photo for protection.

Condition: Very good. This piece is in lovely condition. I have circled the only damage/ area of fray to the hair in photo #4
