PLEASE NOTE: Since listing this item It has recently become apparent that these items are being faked in USA and then being sold online for vast amounts of money and knowingly by one dealer in particular who is known to practice the selling of numerous faked items via a well known site. I am not here to name or to shame however further information about these faked items can be found via google. Most of these faked items carry a 'Butterfly' mark in order to dupe the unwary and to convey 'a sense' of 'attribution' however the moldings of the glass itself is of poor standard and many original details are also missing - particularly the toes upon the feet of one or two of the dancing maidens. I can categorically state that THIS example as is offered to you here, is a genuine and original piece as described.

Every now and then something scarce and unusual comes along and this is such a piece. It is a wonderful example of Art Deco press moulded glass by Hoffman. I have only ever seen two other examples, one of which was recently being offered online for over $2000 USD. These are rare items by Hoffman, and seldom seen... Particularly at this ridiculously low Sale Price
One very frustrating thing about this particular example is that there is what appears to be a moulded signature/maker mark that is incorporated into the moulded pattern of grass, which sadly I am unable to read.
Please study my photographs, as they form a major part of this items description and they cannot deny the unquestionable craftsmanship as displayed. It is an absolute sensation using moulded glass techniques.
The finest quality pink coloured crystal has been used which is also an impressive 1 inch thick at its widest depth. The piece weighs over 2k – 4.5lb. It is difficult to know what the intended use of this trivet or plaque may have been for, however glass items such as these were quite often used for culinary purposes, to display cheeses, sweetmeats or slices of fresh fruit.
Only one side of the trivet has been decorated with moulded pattern whilst the other side has been wheel polished to a very high standard of finish.
The mouldings are a joy to behold and there are no areas of the glass which have not been decorated with naturalistic pattern. Great depth to the piece has been achieved, with a background of grasses (that achieve a sense of frosting) leaves, trees & palms and a stylized rock upon which sits one of the five ladies, playing a flute.
All of the ladies have been portrayed in various modes of dress, and they are seen to be dancing together to the sound of the flute player. The resulting effects provide a feeling of movement, happiness, fun & joy and the detailing is simply sublime... Each facial expression, every muscle tone, fingers & toes etc. all have been crafted with exceptional skill, as too are the robes which each lady wears and or dances with, and each & every single blade of grass... This is no ordinary press moulded piece. It is a work of artistic genius.
CONDITION REPORT: The entire piece is in fabulous condition throughout. There are no scratches, chips, dings or damage repairs and so it is in mint condition for your collection.
