Beautiful Bohemian Art Deco Pink Glass Clock by Heinrich Hoffman. Fully Working.

This is a scarce & delightful Art Deco glass clock by Heinrich Hoffman, a glass maker synonymous to quality.

Hoffman was prominent among glass makers at the luxury level of vanity glass production, as this clock thoroughly demonstrates. One could easily argue that Hoffman pieces quite often compare to the works of Lalique, in terms of design and quality.

This wonderful timepiece follows the Art Deco ethics in shape & subject matter used for its decorative mouldings with perfection. It has been beautifully crafted using pastel pink glass, parts of which have been afforded with matt satin frosting.

Raised in relief are stylized flowers & foliage to both sides of the glass, moulded between arched panels which provide optic height. It is a gorgeously designed piece by Hoffman.

With the clock mechanism being in good working order and running smoothly with no missing parts, this is a scarce and seldom found survivor of the period, to grace any suitable interior setting or a collection.

It is understood that the metal fittings for these clocks (as like with those which are found upon Hoffman perfume bottles) were provided for by various freelance workers and contract factories throughout Czechoslovakia and Austria during the 1930s. Retail outlets were based in Paris, France, which served the higher classes of the Art Deco period. This clock would have been an expensive luxury from a Parisian salon, and is today a wise investment piece for the connoisseur.

As can be seen from my photographs this fine example is in tip-top condition. The tiniest nick can be felt upon the back of the glass which is mentioned here for accuracy of description, and being at the back it by no means detracts. This is a beautiful example of a timepiece housing by Heinrich Hoffman, as is shown.

I am unable to identify the material used for the base however it is original to the piece, as is also the chrome platform upon which the glass clock is fixed into place by two threaded nuts & bolts.

The following measurements are all approximate:

Base length: 5.75 inches – 14.5cms Width: 1.75 inches – 4.5cms Glass height: 3.75 inches – 12cms Length: 3.5 inches – 9cms Width: 1.25 inches – 3cms Postage weight: 900gms

PLEASE NOTE: For obvious reasons the clock cannot be shipped to any destination whilst heard to be ticking. I shall therefore stop winding the clock once a purchase order has been placed and following payment. I kindly ask that you allow good time for this before the clock can be mailed. Thank you.
