Sabino glass fish studies do not come much grander than `Queue de Voile' (Sailing Tail) and it displays luxurious qualities & splendour.
It captures the very essence of a Japanese koi carp fan-tailed goldfish, with realistic moulded details & graceful movement from all angles, whilst also heralding the style of Art Deco.
Only its presence can provide the magnificence of this piece, in terms of its size and attention to detail. I have therefore added several photographs of other Sabino glass fish so as to provide a sense of size & scale of this incredible piece: The leaping `Poisson L'eglfin' is a small fraction of `Queue de Voile' for example, and even the much larger `Poisson Chabot' is dwarfed alongside this magnificent piece.
I personally display large glass figurines of this size lit from beneath (as shown) however I am sure that will agree that no matter how or where this fish study is suitably displayed it has an instant appeal that is timeless.
Of particular note is the way with which this piece has been finished. Matt-satin frosting has been applied to all surfaces except for the base which has been highly polished. This allows for optimum light penetration from beneath whilst also giving the optical illusion that the fish has been moulded hollow.
As with all moulded glass figurative studies of this size, `Queue de Voile' is also exceptionally tactile, and whether displayed as a stand-alone item or part of collective group its charm and its beauty are tireless, whilst also serving as a very wise investment.
