This is unarguably one of the most desirable & adorable of all Art Deco press molded glass trinket boudoir sets that were produced during the period. It is one of two, of this particular amazing pattern `trinket set' currently listed exclusively here in my shop, and this example uses the beautiful qualities of clear & matt-satin frosted sky-blue Uranium glass to perfection, which is also incredibly scarce.
... Just LOOK at the qualities of this outstanding work of art, using Art Deco press molded glass techniques ...
As is typically the case with most of these and other molded glass sets of the period, various component items were produced and were available as separates so as to form a variety of different combinations to suit individual needs or requirements. A single tray could be purchased for example, one or more pots and/or a solitary trinket dish or just a pair of candlestick holders, for as it can be noted, not all of the items as were produced can all fit upon their trays. This `set' therefore is neither complete or incomplete and yet is a collection brought together at the very same date at its time of manufacture during the 1930's.
Collectively termed and named as being the `Egyptian' pattern, its factual maker still remains unknown. Most scholars of thought consider it to have been produced in Czechoslovakia, and as can be seen by the outstanding qualities using molded glass techniques, the factory would have been one major & historical importance. It has also been said and greed by many(though of course argued too) that it could have been produced by Walther & Sohne, Germany (and represents `The Three Graces') for although it is not one of their recorded works,it most certainly has the same characteristics in terms of its excellence to detail & quality of craftsmanship.
It can also be said that the set as is named as being `Egyptian' is also out of context, as what appear to be three Egyptian pyramids as the background upon the tray, is in fact a landscape of hills, which just as the three beautifully represented classical maidens, have been molded intaglio on the underside of the tray. As stand-alone items, these trays are breathtakingly beautiful, however just look at the magnificence of this, when additional pieces from the range have been added... This is one Art Deco press molded glass `set' which demands AND commands serious attention.
TEN components are included here, each which display incredible levels of glass making skill & refinement to detail, and are a supreme accomplishment, seldom seen or matched in terms of each item's remarkable Art Deco styling & appeal, and there are few such trinket-sets that can come close to it...
... I kindly urge you to study my photographs, which not only form a major part of this items description, but also provide more than any words which can be used to define this amazing work of art that has an appeal which is timeless, whilst also being a very worthy investment for you to cherish wherever it is suitably displayed, and just look at this glass when lit with UV black light. It is superb.
