PAIR of Art Deco Uranium Green Glass Fir Cone Bowls by Jobling circa 1930s

These beautiful bowls are by Jobling, England. Famously remembered for their sole right to produce Pyrex. Jobling, were also however ingenuous innovators & designers of many other remarkable quality glass items.

James Augustus Jobling, acquiring the Wear Glass Flint Works, of Henry Greener, in circa 1886, went on to establish popular ranges of glass wear. Without question, Jobling, contributes to the history of Art Deco Glass and for very good reason. The glass produced by Jobling, can compare to most other factories using press moulded glass techniques, in terms of both quality matched with design.

Not dissimilar to the `pine-cone' patterns produced in France, by Verlys, These Jobling pattern bowls compete with and compare too. They are pattern named as "FIRCONE" and were produced in variations of size, finish and colours, including opalescent and of course this wonderful uranium green such as these splendid & captivating PAIR.

A series of fir cones & foliage decorate each bowl in highly defined, moulded relief to the exterior which has then been matt-satin frosted whilst the inside of the bowls are highly fire polished. They are a fabulous pair for your collection.

The remarkable qualities of uranium green (Vaseline glass) has been used to perfection. These bowls simply `glow' with a radiance all of their own and as can also be noted by my photographs they step into a brand new world when lit with UV black light. They are truly gorgeous.

Both bowls also carry a full set of moulded Rd Numbers to their base: REGD NO 777133

They are both completely free of any damage.

One tiny trapped air bubble (caused during the manufacturing process) is mentioned for accuracy of description purposes only and is present within one bowl only, as is shown.

You will not be disappointed to cherish this scarcely available pair, which are available to you here attractively priced and exclusively from my collection.
