Walther 10 Component Piece 'Waldorf' Pattern German Art Deco Pink Glass Vanity Set / Trinket Set.

As with most glass trinket sets produced by this and most other factories a variety of items were developed to be incorporated at later date due to a designs popularity and to suit the requirements of change and the public demand for sets of items & variety.

Walther, only introduced this pattern as a lidded powder pot in circa 1937 as `Waldorf' No. 36254 and due to its then `modern' geometric Art Deco design other component items were produced.

Walther, we no strangers to Art Deco pressed glass. They were the front runners within their field as can be compared to all of the glass which was produced by this incredible German factory of the period. Customer interest called for geometric designs as well the figurative glass studies and with its fabulous angular mouldings once again Walther broadened its pattern range of just one powder pot, and delivered one of the most fabulous Art Deco pressed glass trinket sets of its date. `Waldorf'

1930's Art Deco patterns of stepped-squares triangles & sunburst fan-shapes have been used to create its eye-catching appeal coupled with the exceptional quality as one would expect from the leading German exponents of press moulded glass of its era.

This is a glass trinket set of quality glass & quality design.

Each component piece of ten separate items have been satin frosted to all surfaces, inside & out which has achieved a wonderful soft-shade of pastel peach-pink to the glass.

The crisply defined mouldings are deep & thick and the marvellous lids upon each of the three `Waldorf' pots have fabulous handles which provide a striking Art Deco contrast to the overall pattern, whilst also being extremely tactile.

No one piece, over rules with this pattern by Walther each share the same desirability and then all combine to become an outstanding set.

The candle sticks are amongst the shortest of all pattern types produced by Walther, during the Art Deco period however take a look at their very own magnitude in terms of their presence & importance to each other piece offering a subtle accompaniment.

The ring dish, adds a further, unobtrusive compliment to this set as does the subtleness of the diamond shaped tray with its deeply channelled mouldings of sunburst fan-shapes in true Art Deco styling & form.

This is a wonderful set by Walther and unlike any other that they produced and it once again demonstrates the outstanding levels of design achievement matched with quality from arguably the best Art Deco press moulded glass factory in Germany of its period.

The condition is but a fraction away from mint. Almost impossible to detect (let alone photograph) is the most minute flea bite to the inside lid of one of the smaller trinket pots. It is mentioned here for accuracy purposes only and by no means detracts from this amazing Art Deco set. There is nothing more detectable upon any other piece of some 10 marvellous examples of `Waldorf' by Walther & Sohne, Germany circa 1930's.
