Its factual maker,remains unknown and unrecorded, however this not uncommon with these French, Art Deco symbolic studies, all of which display their individual and unique appeal and their outstanding levels of achievement to capture a representation of a timeless moment, as like a photograph from the period for example.
As is quite a common feature with these Art Deco items, an animated, humanized facial expression has been represented upon both of the animals, which in this piece are the two female deer, which glance at the lady and for all time, with peaceful harmony, and un-afraid, whilst she offers to them a devoted tenderness of love.

This number, as is evident, could relate to many things: Its importer; Pattern; Its maker identity or??? It most certainly is not a number of which relates to how many were produced.
This study is unique and has no known parallel or equivalent using any other medium, such as Bronze or so-called `Spelter' metal for example.
It is however, by means of what you SEE, a master example of its type, which would have been hand-formed and fashioned using composite plaster/chalk/stone materials with internal wires to aid stability to its structure.
The exterior of which then hand painted and applied by an Artist,of its date & period, in France circa 1930s.
It is a beauty... For your appraisal, and for your collection.

There has been no restoration to this piece and all of the hand painted colour is in good vintage condition, save for the very minor missing paint as is shown. It is a remarkable Art Deco feature display and its moderate size allows for numerous presentation possibilities.
