Substantial 14 inch Sabino Grande Coupe Les Oursins circa 1925 Glass Bowl

Its date of manufacture is documented as is also the pattern Circa 1925 "Urchins" bowl: GRANDE COUPE LES OURSINS SABINO FRANCE. The bowl also features in the fabulous book by Giuseppe Cappa: Le Génie verrier de l'Europe (The Genius glass of Europe)

The size of scale of this amazing bowl has got to be seen to be believed at times. One can rightfully admire Sabino glass bowls a small fraction of this size however when pictured as I have photographed, only then can one truly appreciate this phenomenal example of Art Deco Sabino glass, being offered to you.

I have also added a photo, with a yellow dish by Verlys (now sold) so to again provide the size and scale of this magnificent bowl.

Standing at a very impressive 3.75 inches, this bowl presents itself with commanding & outstanding appeal.

Three, 2 inch thick moulded glass sea urchins, to the underside of the bowl,provide both optic beauty & stability with height.

A further three, slightly-smaller sea urchins, interpose the above to add evermore dramatics of decorative features, as so also are the interlaced 'fan-sprays' of stylized seaweed... each marine element, comes-together like a joy, in terms of Art Deco moulded glass, by one of the most important of glass makers of all time, Sabino, France, c1925.

The bowl has its moulded maker mark to the interior central in block capitals: SABINO FRANCE

It is inarguably a glasswork of genius.

There are no chips, defects or even any vintage wear-and-tear, or any bruising or polishing to the three wonderfully moulded sea urchin foot supports of this beautiful piece. The condition is therefore mint for your collection.
