Unsurpassed Ancient Bhutanese Archaeological Antiquity Yak Sinew Vase. AD 629 - AD 657

It has come from the ground, from the Paro Valley close to the Buddhist temple at Kyichu in Bhutan, and dates from AD 629 – AD 657

Its provenance is substantiated and has been identified and documented as having belonged to an ancient practicing Vajrayana Buddhist.

It is an outstanding example piece of ancient Bhutanese history and examples such as this are not seen outside of museums.

The entire vessel has been formed by hand using animal sinew (most probably that of yak?)and then allowed to air dry naturally to achieve its rigid and water-tight form.

One can almost sense the very hand which crafted this incredible piece, of over 1900 years old and its condition is remarkable to say the least...

... There are no holes, slits or splits or any amount of corrosion or decay.

It is in tremendous condition and is also unquestionably unique and of major historical importance.

How does one begin to place a price upon such a piece?

I have priced it in what I consider to be fair and reasonable.
