Splendid & Complete Art Deco Matt Satin Crystal Glass Lady Lamp with Torch Flame Lamp Shade.
It is a noted and recorded pattern shape, however its factual designer or maker still remains unknown. Many consider the lamp to be an unknown work by Walther & Sohne, however this cannot be established, as it does not appear in any catalogues of the period. Schweig, Müller & Co, could also be a contender, or another important glass factory of the Art Deco period. It is however a tremendous example and whoever produced it should be applauded.
I can only offer the above attributions as an opinion and for your own appraisal, however you need only to study the photographs of this lamp, to appreciate its captivating and undeniable beauty, paired with quality moulded glass production.
The torch-flame lamp shade is the correct pattern type for this piece and as you can see it provides symmetry & grace to the lamp base, as they both combine together to become unified and at total harmony with each other, in terms of decorative charm as intended.
It is a wonderful Art Deco glass work of major achievement, as is evident when closely studying the many striking features of high quality throughout its entire formation.
An exceptionally well talented, accomplished and a highly regarded mould-maker would have been required to produce the base of this lamp, particularly with the clarity of pure crystal and the finite definition to all of the moulded glass details of this fabulous piece...
...The Lady, who is scantily dressed with a flowing robe of stylized chiffon, sits & reclines upon a formation of moulded crystal rocks, as if to be hewn from a solid block of frozen ice, which does not melt.
Her facial features alone, match the quality of any other factory producing these wonderful solid crystal lamps from its period. The mouldings are incredibly sharp & crisply defined with an excellence to equal that of any maker of Art Deco moulded glass...
For example, even the eyebrows & eye lashes of the lady have been portrayed and moulded with a preciseness seldom found. Her strands of hair, her muscle tone and the way with which the wafer-thin-covering which enfolds & clothes her body, with an almost transparency...
Each single feature has been depicted with an accuracy and beauty of exceptional quality.
I have photographed her also with a Walther glass lamp to provide size of scale. Please note however, that the green lamp (as pictured) has been sold, however I have another example currently available which is listed separately here in my shop.
Without any sacrifice the lamp has been modified to conform to the electrical safety requirements of today, which is also a blessing...
...Locating modern-day replacement fitments (for these lamp types) is not only costly, but they still remain difficult to obtain as an original equivalent.
This example however is completely operational, being complete and with its appropriate light-bulb fitting, together with the additional importance of the lamp shade gallery and of course its fabulous torch-flame Art Deco shade, all included.
ALSO TO CONFORM TO RULES OF SAFETY THE ELECTRICAL PLUG SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE WIRE FLEX OF THIS LAMP PRIOR TO DISPATCH.
She has "THE LIGHT OF AN ANGEL" and will take any standard type bayonet light bulb, so as to shine real brightly, or to subtlety emphasise a display area to suit the mood.
This is Art Deco glass of true style and of collective importance (as I am certain you will agree) and if just one moulded glass lamp deserves merit, then this one is up there with any other for your appraisal and consideration. It is quite simply beautiful and is offered to you exclusively on Ruby Lane from my private collection.
