Outstanding 1930's Art Deco Large Uranium Green Glass Fruit Bowl by Brockwitz, Germany.

During the 1930s-1940s, they produced outstanding Art Deco glass of quality & style.

Brockwitz center piece fruit bowls are substantial pieces of glass as this wonderful example demonstrates.

This pattern is scarce using uranium green glass and the quality of this glass type by Brockwitz, needs no UV to prettify it into new life.

The pattern first appeared in their 1936 catalogue as shown in my photographs and was marketed as a fruit dish pattern number: 81700a/25

It was machine pressed using a two-piece spring releasing mould and is fabulously formed with Art Deco styling of deeply defined zig-zag patterns to its flaring rim and base.

Further decorative features are of course the wonderful winged handles, which have been meticulously crafted with bouquets of daisies & stylized foliage to both faces and sides.

All of the mouldings are to the bowl exterior whilst the interior is smoothly fire-polished to provide additional optic effects.

The condition of this bowl is excellent.

There is the tiniest of nicks, to the base rim only as is common and acceptable for most glass of its period and style. Impossible for me to photograph and were it anything other than say 1mm in size, then not only would I would say so, but would also be shown.

It is an exceptionally eye-catching design for your collection wherever it is displayed and of course it can be used as intended, for fruit display or even a very yummy lemon & lime flavoured trifle...
