SALE PRICE! 1930s Art Deco Amber Glass LARGE Two Part Center Piece. Incredible.

The maker of these glass centrepieces is unknown They are considered to be of German manufacture and were imported by American and English retailers, most known examples having importers Rd numbers in moulded relief to their base.

These numbers determine the importing country and its retailer rather than being a reference to the maker of the glass.

Lang, of England for example was such an importer's name who has been associated with these English examples, as so to is Bembridge, but until any records come to the surface which could perhaps suggest who these importers purchased from, we may never know the factual makers of these incredible glass center piece comports.

This pattern type was also made available with two different bowl styles.

It is a substantial & very impressive two piece center piece. The pedestal base section is solid & weighty, which is a good sign of quality and uses a very rich amber coloured glass, produced from high concentrates of Iron oxide.

The mouldings upon the pedestal are enchanting. Four cherubs holding hands & back to back form a wonderful central column to support the bowl

Further mouldings of a band of roses decorates the round top section, into which the bowl snuggly fits like hand into glove.

The bowl is also quality made and impressive. It is large and at perfect harmony with its supporting band of pot-bellied cherubs each having been finely detailed and crisply defined

Even their tiny toenails for example have been depicted as too have other features such as facial expression.

Clever design has incorporated faux acid frosting to the bowl. A series of panels to the underside provide added appeal whilst a similarly decorated circular panel thoughtfully hides, the pedestal top when viewed from above.

The hexagonal base of the pedestal has its importers mark to the under rim: REGD No. 756470

It is offered to you here in next to mint condition.

Just one, very minute chip to the underside inside of the bowl which can be felt (rather than be seen) and is impossible to see whilst in situ.

This is an incredible vintage glass centrepiece of importance for your collection and you will not be disappointed to cherish it.
