1930s Art Deco Glass Powder Box by Walther & Sohne, Germany. 'Roland' pattern.
Four items within this pattern were produced. All of which could be purchased as separates for they were not issued as being Trinket Sets.
The pattern consisted of an elongated tablet tray; a perfume flacon with stopper, an atomiser and this lidded powder box example.
The variety was produced in blue or peach crystal, as is Walther catalogued circa 1933. The perfume flacon was later produced using uranium green glass.
All of these Roland pattern items are uncommon in any colour. Few were sold at time of manufacture. This peach coloured powder box is a fine example and is also damage free.
The hexagonal form and the Art Deco symmetry of this powder box, makes it a worthy addition to collectors of such wonderful glass items.
