A Fine Vintage Bust Of Egyptian Queen Nefertiti. British Museum, England. c1970

I am unable to identify the medium used to produce the figure however I purchased it myself in c1970 from The British Museum, following my very fortunate visit to see the Tutankhamun exhibition which was held. Still a young boy, the visit influenced my interest in Egyptian mythology & art ever since.

This exquisite bust has faithfully captured the features of its iconic life size wooden example of before c1336 BC. The image of this statue has played an important role to influence many designers of period Art Deco items, with which it can display with to this day, as its appeal is timeless in terms of design.

There are two of these British Museum pieces available in my shop. The other being a study of Tutankhamun's golden mask. Both are affordable at almost give-away prices and will add delight to any collection of such remarkable Egyptian art.
