Fabulous 1930's Art Deco Uranium Green Glass Bowl by Jobling, England.

Jobling,however were ingenuous innovators & designers of remarkable quality art glass which was unarguably the best English designed art glass of this era.

James Augustus Jobling, acquiring the Wear Glass Flint Works of Henry Greener, in circa 1886 which went on to establish popular ranges of glass wear. Jobling glass (without any question)contributes to the history of Art Deco Glass and for every good reason.

Here for your collection is a Jobling Flowers pattern bowl using uranium green glass which comes alive when lit by UV black light, as ca be seen.

The moulded makers mark which is evident but difficult to locate until held up to light dates this piece as circa 1932 the very height of Art deco.

The bowl has classic Odeon styling & geometric shapes intertwined with stylized flower heads & foliage all of which is moulded in relief to the underside of the bowl and is satin-frosted.

The interior has been highly fire polished to give a smooth contrast to its pattern. Two moulding marks are evident but do not interfere with the patterns as they are horizontal to their lines and hardly noticeable unless here mentioned.

There are no nasty chips or cracks to this amazing piece and it rings like a bell.
