Thomas Webb, English Victorian Uranium Vaseline Glass Vase. AMAZING!

The trumpet form body has been wrythen patterned and has a wonderful spiral of acanthus appliqué. Both of which are uranium Vaseline. A further lovely touch to this vase, is its small-knopped stem work above the foot, which elegantly raises & shows off the vase really beautifully.

A further delightful feature of this unique piece, is its "whisper" of swirling white/blue/gold opalescent glass which adorns the top of the vase with remarkable effect & technical skill. This one feature alone, is an exceptionally difficult working procedure to achieve with any accuracy.

The pontil is ground and polished. A further mark of quality of mouth-blown glass and from a maker of historical importance: Thomas Webb.

As cannot be seen by even my photos is a rough feel to the very bottom end of the appliqué. Mentioned for accuracy only, for it cannot be deemed as being damage. It in no way detracts from this piece or its price and the vase remains as was made over 100 years ago.
