As with many French opalescent Art Deco era glass items this bowl is unsigned by its maker however the inside base of the bowl does bear a stencilled mark MADE IN FRANCE, and it is also a documented & recorded `Cactus' pattern bowl by Andre Hunebelle. It is an opalescent glass bowl of quality and its date is circa 1930s
With a `geometrical sunburst' of press-moulded designing, this wonderful bowl makes a truly fine statement piece.
The rich opalescence combined with crisply defined mouldings and the thickness of glass indicates a maker of good quality.
It is without any doubt in comparison to many of the works by Lalique and `Up There' with say Verlys, Etling or Ezan for example in terms of quality.
This bowl delivers all with its radiance of golden-yellows & blues, the very trademarks of quality French Art Deco opalescent glass.
It is offered to you here free of damage and it therefore makes for a worthy addition to collectors of such beautiful glass.
