The styles of the 1960's were influenced greatly by the exploration of space and the continuance of the start of the modernist theme of the 1950's and the use of Lucite was quite prevalent as it lent itself well to these styles. Vendome was the high end line of Coro and because of that, many of the pieces of jewelry that bear this signature are very coveted today. This choker is decidedly modernistic in it's design.....clear Lucite segments (these segments graduate in size from the middle of the choker to the end from larger to smaller) and Chrome plated discs just scream 1960's! The Lucite is very reflective and looks like pools of light and will go with virtually every color that you may choose to wear, and of course, the silver tone chrome plating is ultra fashionable. The choker catches at the back with a silver tone hook and the length can be extended by making use of the five clear round glass beads on the other side......and, by the way, please note the logo Trefoil of Vendome dangling from this extender.
There may be a few very slight surface scratches on some of the Lucite segments.....I have done no polishing or cleaning of this piece, as it was very clean when acquired. I will leave that to the new owner. The chrome plated segments are shiny and bright and show very little, if any, wear. Overall, this choker is in marvelous condition.
Total Length Measured from clasp to Trefoil: 17 ½"
