Late 1950's-Early 1960's White Persian Lamb Hat Designed By Lilly Dache
Most of the time when you find a vintage Persian Lamb hat it's black or gray. It's unusual to find one done in white lamb. The hat is a rounded close fitting pillbox with a charming topknot. The material used in the making of this hat are definitely representative of the quality maintained by Lilly Dache and, also, reminiscent of the high end items sold by Montaldo's (I remember this upscale store in Richmond, Virginia, which specialized in only the finest ladies attire). The ivory white Persian Lamb is extremely soft and rich. The hat is lined with ivory satin and has a black grosgrain ribbon inner hatband. There are two small hair combs attached on either side of the inside of the hat for added security.
Gender: Female, Age Group: Adult, Color: White, Size: 20"
Condition: Excellent
This hat is very clean. As mentioned previously, the fur is soft....not stiff as so often occurs with age. The Montaldo's label has lost one stitch, which can easily be replaced. Otherwise, there are no detectable issues.
