Typical of the Swagger Style, this coat is wide and roomy and has no defined waist. Made from a beautiful quality black wool, the collar is wide and drapes slightly over the shoulders in a shawl style. On each lapel of the collar is a stylish detail.....a "V" filled with small jet black and clear beads and flatback rhinestones. Topstitched "V's" are sewn on the points of the detail. The sleeves are almost Ragland Style, but do have a shoulder seam and taper to the wrist opening. Midway each sleeve, approximately at the elbow area, there is more topstitching. The wide lapels come together at the front opening of the coat for a nice effect and the coat can be loosely draped at the opening as there are no buttons on this coat, and no belt for that matter! At the wrist opening there is a little notched pleat and the same little notch detail appears midway the generous back collar. The inside of the coat is lined with a really pretty black satin lining which is decoratively stitched near the bottom hemline area. On each side of the front of the coat, there are slit pockets......more topstitching to define the pockets. There is so much detail work in this coat which is always indicative of a fine quality garment. This coat definitely has some weight, but when worn, it's very comfortable as the weight is very evenly dispersed. Warmth with vintage style!
This coat shows very little signs of wear and has just been dry cleaned. There is one covered button and loop on the inside front left panel of the coat, but there is not loop to use with this button....could have been one originally, but there is no sign of one left.

Size: No size label is present. I'm thinking this coat would be possibly a 12-14 by today's standards. It's a loose fitting garment and does not have a tailored fit.
