If you crave the well heeled look, this coat will give you that feel of style and high fashion! The coat is made from a synthetic faux fur material (Alameda by LaFrance) which resembles Persian Lamb done in shades of rich mottled browns. The generous collar and cuffs are not faux fur, but genuine deep brown fox fur. The style of the coat is a classic design for this time in fashion history......slightly fitted bodice with a waist which is just ever so slightly above the natural waistline....gently flared to the bottom hemline. In other words, a little bit of A-Line going on here with this coat! The front of the coat is double breasted with six buttons covered in vinyl which is made to look like brown reptile. There are vertical slit pockets (lined in satin) on each side of the coat and a half belt made from the same embossed reptile vinyl goes around the back of the coat and attaches on each side of the waist with nonfunctioning belt buckles. The coat is fully lined with mocha satin. All you need are knee high boots with coat and you can step out in fabulous vintage style!
P.S. I owned a brown suede belted coat with similar fox fur collar and cuff trim in the late 1968-1969.....all the rage!
Conditon: Very Good
This coat is in very clean condition with the exception of a very small oval (2.5"x 2") stain on the satin lining ....you have to be searching for this spot to see it. It is in the hipline area back of lining and does not show up well in the photo. One other thing to note.....I believe there is evidence that this coat has been professionally shortened by the previous owner. This was a good alteration job, as the coat's proportions and design have not been compromised. The genuine fur collar and cuffs are not shedding and still look lovely. Please refer to the measurements for the length of the coat.
