1950's Vintage Taffeta Maternity Top

Remember that touching moment in television history when Desi Arnez sang this emotional song to his beautiful Lucy........"We're having a baby, my baby and me." Who could forget that moment when the whole world knew that Lucy and Ricky Ricardo(and I still love Lucy) were having a baby!!! When I found this lovely vintage maternity top, I immediately thought this would have been something that Lucy would have worn during her pregnancy on her famous TV show, I Love Lucy. It's very hard to find these tops and this one is very stylish, indeed. The material is a very pretty coral pink taffeta with vertical stripes made of metallic gold colored threads, giving the garment a very elegant look. The sleeves are short and the top closes with five buttons covered in the same material with nicely finished button holes. The stand up collar is reminiscent of a Nehru collar. There are two shoulder pads and they, too, are covered in the same material from which the garment is made. The single pocket is cut on a complimentary bias and adds great detail to this little piece of vintage apparel history!

CONDITION: Near Mint I don't think this garment was ever worn. It is in pristine condition. This item has not been professionally cleaned.
