This necklace and earrings set of beautiful blue-green aquamarine reminds me a waterfall because of the lovely color its two different sizes of premium aquamarine rounds (13 mm & 8 mm) with faceted 4 mm sterling silver Bali beads. It is named for a friend of mine who is an extremely talented pianist who also has the voice of an angel. I wanted to name a piece that was particularly pretty for her.
Aquamarines are part of the beryl group of gemstones. The name comes from the Latin words for water (aqua) and sea (mare). The stones were not actually called aquamarines until the 1600’s. Before then, the stones were called “sea-green beryl”.
The focal point of the necklace is a large (37 mm X 28 mm) hand-carved pale green diamond-shaped serpentine pendant. This is the same stone that some try to sell as “new jade” but it really is serpentine.
The necklace is 19 inches long and the pendant drops down another 2 inches from the center of the necklace. The clasp is an ornate sterling silver flowered toggle.
The earrings are fashioned of one large (13 mm) aquamarine round and they descend approximately one inch long below their ornate sterling silver flowered earwires.
A TISA maker’s mark tag is included on all my women’s necklaces and bracelets.
Your jewelry will be carefully and safely shipped and will arrive in a lovely gift box, complete with gold ribbon.
