Coin Silver Cup Repousse Grapevines 1855 Fessenden

American coin silver cup or mug with repousse grape and vine decorations and applied egg and diamond upper and lower rims made by Fessenden Brothers of Providence, Rhode Island, c.1855.

This ornate pre- Civil War cup is inscribed Susan Wildes Hayes from her Godparents June 17th, '55. Susan was born in Brooklyn New York.

This elegant cup. with its C shaped handle, is 3 7/8" tall, 3" diameter and weighs 124 grams or 4 ozs. Troy.

The excellent original condition, with no removals, repairs or alterations makes this an especially attractive offering.

The cup has a clean interior and is as usable as it is desirable.

The soft, warm, original antique finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
