American sterling silver souvenir spoon by William Meyer of Seattle. c.1895. This interestingly detailed spoon has a myriad of California motifs on both sides of the handle: The Cliff House, Wawona or Big Tree, Gold Discovered 1848 Sutter's Mill, State Capitol, Poppies, The Bear Flag, Carmel Mission, oranges and grapes. However, the best feature of the spoon is in the bowl, which has wonderfully embossed, oranges and orange blossoms from Los Angeles, Cal.
Weighing 19 grams, this especially desirable spoon is 5 1/2" long.
The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
