American sterling silver combination purse and notepad by the Webster Company, c.1910.
This attractive purse has its original oval and round link chain, original pigskin fitted interior with a flap pocket, a slip pocket, mirror, celluloid notepad and silver mechanical pencil. The notepad even has the list written by the former owner, whose monogram: PB is engraved in ornate, period script o the front of the case.
The hinge is clean and tight and the case opens and closes properly.
Weighing 112 grams 3.6 ozs. Troy, this delightful and still very useful case is 3 3/8" - 2 5/8" . 5/8" thick and9 1/2: long with its chain.
Monogrammed as described above, the soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
The excellent original condition and clear detail, with no removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
