Queen's Gravy Ladle New York City 1815 Coin Silver

American coin silver gravy ladle in the Queen's pattern by William Thompson Henry Salisbury and Garrett Eoff and retailed by Hyde & Nevins (James Hyde and Rufus Nevins ) all of New York City, c.1815. Hyde later formed the New Orleans firm of Hyde and Goodrich.

The maker's Pseudo Marks are Lion Bust and C. The retailer's mark is H&N. The B•W mark is unknown to me, but may represent another retailer. All of the marks are well struck.

This handsome gravy ladle is 7 15/8" long and weighs 58 grams or 1.9 ozs Troy.

The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.

The soft, warm, original antique finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
