American Coin Silver Mote Spoon having a pierced, fluted bowl and a long twisted handle with a spear point end, c.1860 made by Taylor and Laurie of Philadelphia for M.W.Galt and Brother of Washington D.C.

This is definitely a mote spoon and not an olive spoon.

The spoon is 9 7/8" long and weighs 17 grams.

The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.

The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
