Shot Luftwaffe KG 77 Puiforcat 950 French Sterling Silver 1941

French 950 sterling shot cup by Emile Puiforcat, inscribed: Kriegs Ostern 1941 I.K.G. 77.

This historically interesting shot has an inscription from Kampfgeschwader 77 (KG 77) which was a Luftwaffe bomber wing during World War II. Its units participated on all of the major fronts in the European Theatre until its dissolution in 1944. It operated all three of the major German bomber types; the Dornier Do 17, Heinkel He 111 and the Junkers Ju 88.

Group 1 of KG 77 participated in the Eastern Front during Operation Barbarossa in the spring of 1941 and in the invasion of the Baltic Countries. Kriegs Ostern translates as Eastern War.

Weighing 28 grams, this interesting piece of WW2 memorabilia is 1 5/8" tall and 1 3/8" in diameter.
