William Penn Souvenir Spoon Full Sized Heavy Sterling 1891

American sterling silver Full Figure William Penn Souvenir spoon by Gorham Silversmiths for J. E. Caldwell, c.1891.

This handsome and heavy spoon has an embossed view of the Philadelphia City Hall in the bowl and a nicely detailed, double struck figure of William Penn standing on a Keystone shaped plinth, draped with a ribbon emblazoned with Philadelphia.

Weighing a substantial 42 grams or 1.4 ozs. Troy, this elegant and highly collectible spoon has a period monogram: F.M.R on the back of the bowl and is 6" long.

Monogrammed as described above, the soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.

The excellent original condition and clear detail, with no removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.

Offered elsewhere for $95, our price of $65 is as special as the piece itself.
