Italian 800 silver over the cup tea strainer, c.1890 in an open work Baroque style.
Both the handle and the border have open work, engraved decorations. The 800 silver touch mark is the first one used by the Italian Kingdom, established in 1870.
This special tea strainer is 6" long, 3 1/2" wide (bowl) and weighs 41 grams or 1.3 ozs. Troy.
The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
The soft, warm, original antique finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
