This is a gorgeous nightgown from the mid 19th century. It is entirely hand stitched with piped sleeve seams, and cartridge pleating under the yoke. The yoke looks to be completely hand embroidered, oh just look at that undertaking!! The closure is a button front closure. The piece is very elaborate and is fashioned of the heavy linen so popular in this day.
Condition: Excellent antique condition. Item has been laundered. There remains a very very faint rust mark that is unseen unless closely examined. Also remaining is a bit of surface dirt smudge... from the clothes line perhaps? At any rate, if you give it an additional soak, all will be gone. No tears, no holes.
Age: Victorian era, mid 19th century
Size: Piece is small in size. Approx shoulder to shoulder measurement is 16" It is difficult to be exact due to the drop shoulder. Back neckline to hemline measures 51".
