The Little Brown Bear is one in the Sunny Book Series written and illustrated by Johnny Gruelle. It was published by P.F. Volland and has a 1920 copyright. The book has an inscription on the first blank endpaper: Atlanta Georgia June 9, 1924 - To Doris From Grandma Smith. The book measures 7 3/8 by 6 inches. The cloth over board covers show wear at the edges and corners and there's a crease to the cloth from the top edge onto the bear's flower wreath. The inside pages are in very good condition as is the binding. There's some age browning on some pages and a small diagonal tear at the top of the title page. It's a charming little book and may be a first edition as I find no evidence of a later copyright.
