Hand Painted Noritake Sugar Bowl

This hexagonal shaped bowl is white on the bottom half of the bowl with a pale yellow on the top half. The top half is outlined in gold with triangular panels highlighted in gold and black surrounding painted roses in two shades of pink with green leaves.

The rim of the bowl and lid are painted in a deep brownish gold with stylized half circle design work overlay top.Pattern is repeated on lid. In between rose panels are decorative floral panels done in gold. Handles are triangular in shape with gold on top and pinstriping down side.

Markings on bottom read " hand painted" with Noritake mark, and "Nippon" below. Early half 20th century. 5 inches tall and 9 inches from handle to handle. Condition extremely good, no chips or cracks.
