ca. 1900 Cast Brass Sconce Hanger

This interesting sconce hanger depicts a winged dragon with a serpentine tongue which acts as the actual portion that a sconce would hang on. It is mounted on a cast plate with cloverleaf design on top and bottom. It measures 9 7/8" long, 2 1/4" wide and projects from the wall 5 3/4". It does not have the screws for the 6 screw holes (3 on top. 3 on bottom). It was purchased in England, and could be used with item# RL-1102, but is not original to the piece. The only drawback is that the sconce(RL-1102) would be almost touching the wall. Markings on back are somewhat open to interpretation, "D.I." or "D.L IEPO". I'm not sure that the camera can capture it, as the human eye cannot.

Item ID: RL-1103
